Affiliate marketing is simple to understand. You promote a business product or service to someone. If that someone buys the business product or service then the business pays you a commission at no extra cost to the customer.

People are always going to buy things they want.

Businesses are always going to sell things that people want for a profit.

There is always going to be a supply and demand for things.

You task as an affiliate marketer is to facilitate the meeting between the buyer and the seller so that if everything goes well, you get can earn a commission.

How does affiliate marketing works?

This is a road map of how affiliate marketing works.

You create the content –> you put a link of the product or service –>you promote the content –> you get visitors to the content –> you visitors interact with the content –> your visitors buy the product or service –> you earn a commission –> you rinse and reap.

You either create the content yourself or you pay someone to create the content for you.

The content could be written content like a blog to be able to read it.

The content could be video content like uploading videos to YouTube to be watch.

The content could be podcast content like audio that people can listen to.

You put a link of the product or service

Once the content has being created, you put a link of the product of service on it.

There are many product or services that you can put on the on the content.

You can go to each individual business website and join there affiliate program to get the link.

Or you can join an affiliate network that have many links, it’s like a hub for businesses.

You Promote the content

Once the content and the product of service has upload or publish,

you can now promote your content.

You can promote your content by going to other platforms and posting your content to attract visitors to your blog or whatever platform you publish your original content.

You get visitors to the content

You get visitors to the content that you create with free or paid traffic.

Free traffic, are things like search engine optimization (SEO). Basically, this help your content appears on the search engines.

Paid traffic, you simply paid a company to allow you to put an advertisement of your content in their platform.

Google ads and Bing ads are two examples.

You visitors interact with the content

The visitor arrive to your blog or hub and interact with your content. They read or watch or listen to your review, opinion or whatever the content information is about.

Your visitors buy the product or service

If the visitor click on any of the affiliate links on your blog , they are taken to another website where they can buy the product or services.

You earn a commission

If the visitor buy a product or services from the business then the business pay you a commission at no extra cost to the customer.

The customer is happy to buy the product and the business is happy to sell a product. The business would happily pay you a commission because that’s an extra sell of a product that the business would have not sell otherwise.

You rinse and reap

You rinse and reap the whole process again with a different product or service. Or you rise and reap again with a different article but same product.
