What Are Pingbacks & Trackbacks?
Trackbacks is WordPress notification that is send to another site when you create a link on your post that link to their website.
Example you create a website post and on your post you put a link and that link let to “another website dot .com”
In this example you can manually send a track back to the owner of “another website dot. com”. If the owner of another website dot.com has Pingbacks & Trackbacks enable then the owner of the website will simply received a comment.
This comment will display an excerpt of the post that you created also a link to your site where you create the post

The owner of the website can choose to approve , reply , Spam or trash the comment
